I’m delighted to be working with the Weald & Downland Open Air Museum (to be found here on Facebook and Twitter), one of my favourite attractions near my home in Chichester, West Sussex. I joined the Friends of the Museum nearly 17 years ago, not long after moving to the area, so this acts as a season ticket to the site, which covers 50 acres of the beautiful South Downs. The Museum has a terrific collection of old and ancient buildings that have been re-erected since the Museum was founded in 1970. I’ve watched “new” buildings being put up over that time and attended several events, including their food fair and the Autumn Countryside Show. I once entered some preserves into the competiotion at the latter event, but won nothing and was told that my chutney, made 6 years earlier, “needed maturing”, but I don’t bear grudges. Much!
I will reveal the projects and events I will be working on at a later date, but for now I just want to say I am really looking forward to working with the Museum to help promote their fantastic attraction, and to working with a former colleague who shares many of my interests and my general outlook on life.
